The Rapid Injection Molding process can produce parts within certain limits of size and volume. The maximum part size depends upon part geometry and material, but here are approximate guidelines:

1) Maximum part outline is approximately 18.9 (480 mm) inches by 29.6 inches (751 mm), but is subject to an overall limitation of 175 square inches (1129cm2) of projected mold area.

2) Maximum part volume is approximately 59 cubic inches (967 cc).

3) Depth UP TO 3″ (76 mm) from the parting line with 3° of draft (6″ (152 mm) total if the parting line can pass thru the middle of the part, inside and outside)

4) Deeper parts are limited to a smaller outline. This outline is 27.6 x 16.9 at 1” (701.04 x 429 at 25 mm) deep, 25.6 x 14.9 at 2” (650 x 378 at 50 mm) deep and 23.6 x 12.9 at 3” (599 x 327 at 76 mm) deep.

5) We require approximately 1 degree of draft per inch of depth from parting line, subject to an overriding ½ degree minimum for most faces.

6) Side action cams consume extra space which comes out of these limitations.

7) Size limitations are due to mold base size and milling considerations. Please send us a 3D CAD model for a free moldability analysis and quote.
