what is a balanced runner? The balanced runner is that all runners have identical length, shape, and sectional dimensions, from the spure to each cavity. The design is to ensure each cavity has a balanced material flow and is filled out at the same time. for example, radiate runners, linear runners, Y-shape runners, X-shape runners, H-shape runners.
Balanced flow into the cavities is a prerequisite for a quality part. This can be achieved by changing the runner size and length. Changing the gate dimension may give a seemingly balanced filling. However, it affects the gate freeze-off time greatly, which is detrimental to part uniformity. Whenever possible, a naturally balanced runner system should be used to balance the flow of material into the cavities. If a naturally balanced runner is not possible, then the runner system should be artificially balanced,
thanks for sharing your knowledge about mold design
as a mold designer, i want to show my thank to you for sharing your experience in mold industry
This blog introduces some basic knowledge of mold design
The balance runner design is very important in the mold with multi-cavity
here I find a lot of information about injection mould design
the balanced runner system is still often used in our injection mold design
this is one of the runner system we often use in our mold design
Thank you for popularizing basic specialized knowledge:-)
I think every mold designer knows this concept,The key is how to design it correctly
Wow, too simple! that is for a beginner, I am a mould designer, maybe we can discuss some here.
