CNC water jet cutting produces part shapes by cutting sheet material using a high pressure stream of water containing small abrasive particles.
CNC water jet cutting is able to create thin details of almost any shape. During the process, no heat is generated; therefore the part which is being cut does not undergo heat distortion. As a result high cutting accuracy is achieved without frayed edges or burrs and therefore no secondary finishing is needed in many cases.
CNC Water Jet cutting is used in almost every industry. Some of the examples where it is applicable include aerospace, automotive, power generation, architectural, medical, furnishing, & semi-conductors.
Water jet cutting can cut soft and hard materials from as thin as .001” to as thick as 4” or more. The process does not produce poisonous gas when cutting plastics or rubber compounds.
