As a professional mold designer, before designing, it is very important to understand all the parameters when quoting a price, if not, you may design a mold that greatly exceeds the quoted price. Note that the purpose of any industry is to make money with their product.
In all industries, there is a common practice. Before a mold order is placed, at least three quotation from different mold maker are on costumer’s desk. So your mold price must be competitive with that quoted by other mold makers.
